Climate Control Direct operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services, in order to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience (the "Services"). Climate Control Direct is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase or other transaction using the Services or otherwise communicate with us. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using and accessing any of the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Personal Information We Collect or Process

When we use the term "personal information," we are referring to information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you or another person. Personal information does not include information that is collected anonymously or that has been de-identified, so that it cannot identify or be reasonably linked to you. We may collect or process the following categories of personal information, including inferences drawn from this personal information, depending on how you interact with the Services, where you live, and as permitted or required by applicable law:

  • Contact details including your name, address, billing address, shipping address, phone number, and email address.
  • Financial information including credit card, debit card, and financial account numbers, payment card information, financial account information, transaction details, form of payment, payment confirmation and other payment details.
  • Account information including your username, password, security questions, preferences and settings.
  • Transaction information including the items you view, put in your cart, add to your wishlist, or purchase, return, exchange or cancel and your past transactions.
  • Communications with us including the information you include in communications with us, for example, when sending a customer support inquiry.
  • Device information including information about your device, browser, or network connection, your IP address, and other unique identifiers.
  • Usage information including information regarding your interaction with the Services, including how and when you interact with or navigate the Services.

Who operates this store

Climate Control Direct operates this store under ABN 43 407 553 101. Contact us about privacy at ductedair1@gmail.com or 0416 418 482. We do not operate a walk-in retail store.

How information is collected and used

Information comes from you when you browse, place an order, request a quote, contact us or subscribe; from cookies and similar technologies; and from service providers involved in payments, delivery and running the store. We use it to answer enquiries, confirm supplier availability, process orders and payments, arrange delivery and requested installation referrals, handle returns and warranty enquiries, maintain business records and prevent fraud. If necessary order or delivery information is not provided, we may be unable to complete the service.

Who information may be shared with

We use Shopify to host and operate the store and Gmail for customer-service correspondence. Information relevant to a transaction may be shared with payment providers, carriers, suppliers or manufacturers assisting with fulfilment or warranty matters. If you request an installer referral or quote, the relevant contact and job details may be shared with the installer. Information may also be provided to professional advisers or authorities where required or permitted by law. Please do not send card numbers, passwords or identity documents through our contact form or ordinary email.

Shopify, cookies and overseas processing

Shopify and its service providers process information to operate checkout, secure the service and provide shopping features. Depending on the services and settings involved, Shopify may also use information for analytics, personalisation and advertising across its services. See Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy and privacy choices portal for details and available controls.

Cookies and similar technologies support cart functions, preferences, security and measurement. Use the cookie choices described below to control optional technologies; browser controls are also available. Shopify operates globally, so information may be stored or processed outside Australia. See Shopify's international data transfer information. Other service providers may also process data overseas; contact us if you need more information about a particular service.

Meta advertising and measurement

We use Shopify's Facebook & Instagram integration with Enhanced data sharing. It uses the Meta Pixel, advanced matching and Conversions API to understand website activity, measure advertising results and help show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram. Where consent is required by our privacy settings, non-essential advertising and analytics tracking is subject to your choices.

Information shared with Meta may include pages and products viewed, searches, cart activity, checkout events and purchases, together with device and browser identifiers and information you provide such as your name, location, email address and phone number. This helps Meta match website activity with a Meta account. Matching information may be hashed; hashing does not make it anonymous. Purchase information is also sent directly from Shopify to Meta through Conversions API, not only through your browser. Our advertising integration is not intended to send passwords or full payment-card numbers to Meta.

Meta may process this information outside Australia. Read Meta's Privacy Policy for its processing, retention and international-transfer practices. You can also review Meta's off-Meta activity controls. These controls are separate from your choices on our store.

Cookie choices

We show a cookie-choice banner to visitors in Australia and other selected regions. You can accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or choose categories through Manage preferences. Essential cookies used for features such as security, the cart and checkout remain available. Optional categories cover personalisation, marketing and analytics. Declining optional cookies does not prevent you from shopping.

To review or change a saved choice, open Terms and Policies in the website footer and select Cookie preferences. Your choices apply to this browser and device. You may be asked again if you clear cookies or use another browser or device. Browser controls can also restrict cookies, but blocking essential cookies may affect the store. Contact us if you need help with your privacy choices or wish to request deletion of information already collected; changing a cookie choice does not automatically delete historical records.

Marketing choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using their unsubscribe link or contact us to opt out. Essential order, delivery and service messages are separate from marketing.

Retention and security

Order and correspondence records are retained as needed for fulfilment, support, warranties, disputes and applicable record-keeping obligations. We take reasonable precautions when handling information, but no internet service is completely secure. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive information in enquiries.

Access, correction and complaints

You may contact us to request access to or correction of your personal information, ask about deletion, or make a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity and consider applicable retention obligations before acting. Explain your request and provide enough detail for us to investigate. We aim to respond within 30 days. If the matter remains unresolved, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner to ask about available complaint options. Legal rights depend on the applicable law and circumstances.

Changes and third-party services

We may update this policy as the business or services change and will show the revised date here. Linked providers have their own privacy policies, which you should review when using their services.
